IDOL SPOILER ALERT: David Cook Wins!

Hey everyone...I'm at the Nokia Theater right now, so I won't be able to blog in detail about the American Idol finale until later tonight. But here's the one piece of vital info you need to know right now, just announced:

DAVID COOK IS YOUR NEW AMERICAN IDOL!

Man, this news just rocks. Literally!

Yes, the unassuming Missouri bartender with no Smithson-style showbiz connections has trumped aggressively hyped/stage-parented Star Search winner David Archuleta. America got it right this time. Thanks for rocking the vote, Idol fans! (And if those Internet rumors are true that this outcome was fixed, well then, I guess thanks to whomever rigged it in Cook's favor...)

I know I said in my earlier blog that I didn't want to David The C to win (ONLY because I was afraid it would ruin his career)...but now that I'm here in the middle of all this celebratory hubbub, I'm pretty pleased with the results. And Cook's career seems pretty intact so far. So huzzah for Cook!

Kimmi78-- You're forgetting Kelly Clarkson. Yeah she had a bad album and hasn't been in the limelight much, but she is working on a new project right now, and she'll be back on top soon.

David A has a great voice but he sings the same things over and over. David A did have a better night Tuesday night but I loved David C's last song, collective soul.

Everyone has a bad week sometimes, overall David C did the most to stound out from the crowd.

I think both will sell records but I think David A would be good in a disney thing until he gets more mature, although music is moronic right now and you can make a hit without saying anything remotely understandable, ie clap clap.

I think David C will do well, it is also not fair to compare Daughtry and David C. Not all rockers are the same. If you gonna down him for not being daughtry you might as well start with all the rockers that have been on American Idol or already in the business.

Daughtry was a blessing that proves people make mistakes and we have to learn from them.

Sweet, sweet, sweet. I live in Utah and greatly admire the Archie boy, but love love love David Cook. The show was actually great fun tonight, despite a few goofy spots. P.S. - hey anyone else think Archie sounded cool w/ the bands tonight? - he was kinda rockin tonight because he wasn't all alone doing his same ol same ol. And of course David C sounded wonderful tonight.

Congratulations David Cook....! You are my favorite. Actually, I realized that after you became American Idol. I, myself was not sure whether I like David Cook or David A most. I was a huge Cook fan as well as Archuleta fan. But, the moment it was announced that you are the American Idol of 2008……….I can not explain how I felt. This is one of the happiest days of my life. I’m so…happy about you David.

Nope. I think he's just good-looking that's why he won. But in terms of voice quality, it should have been the younger david.

Oh man. I am VERY HAPPY Cook won. I am still watching the show in Los Angeles. I really wanted to know before the show was over who won to see if its worth seen it all. So again I am very excitied Cook WON! Both David's really know how to SING! But when COOK does his interviews he has MORE personality than Arche.Cook can sing almost any type of music and he can really ROCK. I am guessing that everyone expected Simon to be right from yesterdays performance but i know the voters know Simon can be wrong.

Made my night the right David won. I had a tear in my eye to. Can't wait to hear the CD. Thanks American Idol fans and singers for making the right chose. And for David A hope he make it in the teen seen. Don't get me wrong he is good if you like young stuff, but i also wish him well in what he does. I AM SO THRILLED DAVID COOK WON! I did feel kinda sad for David Archuleta, but the kid seems really really nice and he's got amazing talent, he'll go far. I believe David Cook is the best AI! How he went over to his fellow competitors when it was his time to shine over everyone else, and he chose to share it, was just so moving. This is the IDOL I really wanna look forward to seeing all over the place. Best season. Awesome finale. It was the best AI battle and it was anyone's game. GOOD JOB AMERICA!
