Clay Aiken To Be A Babydaddy!??!!

No, this is not another story on that pregnant man. But it's just as astounding.

According to TMZ, Clay Aiken is going to be a FATHER.

TMZ is reporting that Clay's late-fortysomething producer/roommate/"best friend" Jaymes Foster-Levy (yes, Jaymes is a woman, in case you were confused) was successfully artificially inseminated with Clay's sperm, and is now carrying Clay's baby.

I honestly don't have much more to add here. I'm as speechless as Simon Cowell during Fantasia's recent performance.

But a rep for David Foster, Jaymes' famous producer brother, is a little less tongue-tied. The rep has confirmed TMZ's earlier report in a statement to The Insider: "[Jaymes] looks great, glowing, and very happy. She and Clay have been good friends for a long time."

Is this the "measure of a man" Clay was singing about? Hmmmm.

Maybe this song ought to be Clay's next single.

Why do some of you still think like it's 1940? People should be judged by their strength of character and goodness. Too much emphasis is put on looks, orientation, lifestyle, and status. What matters is that this child will have love and positive parents. Gosh, I'm over 50, and I think more about the real issues than some of you teeny-boppers, etc. Get a life! Be concerned about things that really matter - fairness to all, the environment, and making quality of life better for everyone.

More than likely, Jaymes was AIed because the egg was a donor egg. Given that she's late 40's it's statistically low that she would concieve for the first time using her own eggs. Now if she'd had a child before it be more likely but after age 44 the chances drop a lot. So they use a donor egg. Clay is biological dada, Jaymes is gestational carrier and you get a baby. That does not mean that Clay isn't batting for the other team it just means Jaymes probably couldn't produce on her own. This also would decrease the likelihood of a birth defect since they probably used a 20 somethings egg (ovum).

I guess he has a right to make a deposit to whatever bank he wants to, but, somehow, it seems a little strange. I am sure he will be a good dad, however, I think the kid will be a little confused. Then again, what kid isn't confused? I wish him the best. Life sure has some twists and turns in 2008.

Clay has already come out of the closet! And who cares, the sexuality of a person does it make the person a good or bad parent. Clay seems to me a very warm hearted and loving person who I feel will give the baby a very loving home and take care of them as any other parent would their own child. And for mrs.kparedes, if you would have read the entire article, it was very specific on letting everyone know that yes Jaymes is a WOMAN.

Older women who have trouble conceiving often go the artificial insemination route to be assured of a "direct hit". Has this occurred to no one? Yes, it even happens in marriages all the time.
