Best Idol Ever

Posted Sat May 31, 2008 12:12am PDT by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks

As if there weren't enough reasons to heart David Cook, here's another: His LOL-tastic skit on possibly the best Best Week Ever ever:

With this, David has officially man-cemented his status as best Idol ever.
You know, if this singing thing doesn't pan out for David, not only could he go into hairdressing, he surely could try acting or standup comedy as well.
This Idol is funnier than Chris Sligh, hotter than Constantine, has more famous hair than Sanjaya...is there anything he cannot do?

Lyndsey, STOP, already... I refuse to become a cougar. LOL. Yes, I could qualify, but for the fact that I wouldn't DARE embarrass him, nor my daughters, who are in their twenties (sadly, they're already married; just kidding, Chris and Shaun- you know I love you guys), not to mention my hubby and 14-year-old son are Cook fans too. Seriously, millions of Americans can hold their heads up, knowing that they voted for the most VERSATILE entertainer in American Idol history. Now, if we could just choose our president as wisely.....

i am so glad that he won-he is FUNNY, hot and a he can actually sing and perform. Wow a talented AI. America we got it right!

Cook makes reality rock.

Love the title, LP. Although the jury will remain out for quite some time to come, we are adding to the evidence daily. I am still convinced that we chose the best contender this year, and I believe that time will tell that we have chosen the best ever.

Thank for sharing this clip that shows he has a sense of humor and some acting ability as well as his other talents. Thanks, also for helping us that are having some AI withdrawls, not have to go cold turkey.

Another article I ran into that adds to my personal respect for this very special Idol, helping to make him MY favorite ever is this.
'American Idol' champ David Cook visited Luke Menard in hospital
By Christopher Rocchio, 05/29/2008

http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/american-idol-champ-david-cook-visited-luke-menard-in-hospital-7214.php. He took the time to see Luke during his prepartions for finale week. A couple of the other contestants went to see him also and many have sent messages. It looks like we have also chosen an Idol who is a good human being also.

I agree with Writeheart here though, I would fit into the category easily, but I too refuse to become a cougar. LOL. My son is the same age as Cook and usually listens to the kind of music I don't like at all, but all 3 of my children agree that we chose the right one this year.

he should have his own sitcom, it would do very nicely i bet.

Looking forward to his albums and successes...

Just got to watch the Best Week Ever this morning and it just proves what I already knew ~ that while DC is going to be an wonderful singer he also doesn't take himself so seriously! I hope he continues to have fun with all of this ~ he deserves the best!!

I want to be "cookified" LOLOL

That was great. He's extremely talented, intelligent, funny....sigh...why can't I find me someone like that...

17. dodgergirl1 -
LP you rock! Thanks for sharing this video.

18. Writeheart -
Miss R.: Hahahaha, we ALL want to be "Cookified." Even my husband asked me if maybe he should e-mail Cook to see if he could style his hair. I said, "Honey, I think you have to have some hair up there for Cook to work with." lol. Too funny. And I love that David Cook is so intelligent. In one interview alone, I heard him use the words, angst, ernest and precipice, all in the correct context. Such a refreshing change...lol.

19. Writeheart -
Oops, I think I meant "earnest." Hehehehe.

Lady Jane!!!! and other Cook fans,
I think you may enjoy this post from another site (film.com) as much as I do. It's in regards to why the majority of Americans chose David Cook as their AI. The author of the article is Ethan Morris (I think).

Dear Mr. Morris,
Both Davids are very musically gifted, as almost everyone seems to agree universally. However, I believe that the "young warbler" was consistently singing the same style that was endearing, but not very entertaining after you've heard him a few times. He really needs to broaden his repertoire. David Cook on the other hand had a fantastic range of genres and styles and he showed with a beautiful voice of highs and lows, singing his heart out about lonely Eleanors and Father McKenzies, tenderly kissing the face of little sparrows and warning poor maidens to guard their love for worthy suitors, sharing his heart about the world of love and idealism that he believed in. Although the reasons you mention for the victory of David Cook are all important factors, I believe that it was David's soulful representation of the mystery, gift, poetry and beauty of human anthropology that won the hearts of so many fans. David Archuletta has potential to grow in that dimension, but David Cook has reached a very beautiful stage of human development as a kind, humble and loving child of God's creation. My prayer for him is that he shall encourage many young people to follow in his example of seeking beauty, humility, truth and other eternal and most noble virtues of the human heart in this blessed gift of life's journey. It is people like David Cook that make the John Paul II's and Mother Theresa's come alive in our simple human lives.
Sincerely Yours, In the Peace and Love of God,
Father Peter Zygas,
