Best Idol Ever

As if there weren't enough reasons to heart David Cook, here's another: His LOL-tastic skit on possibly the best Best Week Ever ever:
With this, David has officially man-cemented his status as best Idol ever.
You know, if this singing thing doesn't pan out for David, not only could he go into hairdressing, he surely could try acting or standup comedy as well.
This Idol is funnier than Chris Sligh, hotter than Constantine, has more famous hair than Sanjaya...is there anything he cannot do?

And that article was great, and I totally agree. I think the American audiences (and we Canadians who couldn't vote LOL) were fascinated by his being so multifaceted. He truly is an inspiration Thanks for sharing!
What a sweetheart!
But, really, how sad is it that Clay Aiken's pending fatherhood manages to steal Cook's thunder? Well, it's a sad statement about the society we live in today, that's for sure. What's the bottom line? Clay, like David Cook, is an amazing singer who has stayed true to himself. Does everyone love him and his style of music? Certainly not. And that's okay.
What? A child is to be born into this world that is absolutely wanted and will no doubt be loved...and somehow that's a BAD thing? I admit I just don't know what to say to that. Go figure....
I'm still hanging around here once in a while. A lot of the people we were having such nice Sunday evening discussions with, were reported for abuse and were banned from the site early last Sunday. They were the very kind Y!MUs that were not in the least abusive. Most were extremely kind posters that actually often stayed away early in the blog to avoid those that were abusive. I can only guess that someone had a grude against them and reported them in a spiteful act. I was very saddened by this and don't expect to hear from most of them again.
I am reading a lot of the articles regarding DC and some of the other idol news. I miss the Sunday night meetings, but I suppose most won't hand aroound now that the show is over.
I agree that it is pretty sad that impending fatherhood is what some prefer to comment on. I have to admit I haven't gone near that LP post. I am quite leary of what people would find to say about this topic.
I am having AI withdrawls this week and having to scrounge for AI news. For me it will be eased a little next week with the start of Nashville Star. I have really enjoyed that one the last couple of years. I even found a blog from last season that LP did, on the Nashville Star site.
I think you are very wise to stay away from that site. Sadly, I am not that wise. lol. However, I didn't post anything that I believe could be negative toward Clay, but maybe his claymates. And, maybe I shouldn't have even done that....but I don't think they are doing him any favors in their devotion. I have heard him speak on talk shows, like Leno. He is very engaging and funny and can obviously take care of himself, yet they insist on following him everywhere, like a very large group of mothers, and they don't hesitate to correct him out loud if they think he erred in something he said. I get embarrassed for him when this happens, needless to say. And you must know I was NOT referring to you in my earlier comment about Cook fans. I guess I'm just frustrated because we have to stick together in support of our Idol and the number of postings here is pretty slim pickings, you know, especially considering how funny his spot on Best Week Ever is. I don't know how long it's been since I laughed out loud like I do every time I watch it. Whew! I SO needed that. lol.
This is also the cause of all the posts that were so out of order last weekend. When posts are removed, the new posts go where the removed ones were. Some of the removed posts were only very recent, like Friday evening and Sat. very early am. Others, were removed as far back as a week or more. I think ALL Y!MU posts were removed Friday/Sat. I had been having discussions with a lot of these posters for quite a few weeks.
I was under the impression that the reports were investigated, before acton was taken. I now know that at least for some of those who remove posts, they don't do any investigation. I do know several of these posters let the powers that be at Y! know how unjust the removal was. I have no clue why they would have been reported, and I know most of them don't either. Just reading the posts that were removed would have been enough to show that removal was not justified.
Sorry, for the prattle. As you said, I hate injustice. It is really amazing that that could occur, when one could read through most of the comments at most of the sites, and see so many comments that deserve to be reported.
As we have seen in the past, without the support, we haven't really chosen an AI. We have only chosen a winner for a TV show.
I'm one Cook fan that's still around! Maybe most people have stopped posting because Idol's over and they're not really checking the blog anymore - it's not on Yahoo's front page like it used to be during the show.
Judging from DC's sales though, I'd say that his fans are still going quite strong - Time of my Life is still the #1 on iTunes (I downloaded it too), and his downloads have broken records for the # of singles by one artist on the chart! So I'd say the Cook love is still going on.
It is sad that Clay's impending sort-of-fatherhood is making news. But I also think that it's sad that David Cook's date with Kimberly Caldwell is making more news. The man was barely idol for a week before we were all up in his personal life (which, granted, he didn't do much to avoid). I think he needs to be careful about what aspects of his life he publicizes...too much personal stuff and people may not take him seriously anymore, and his success may be limited. And if that happens, I may never get cookified...
Another DC fan here but really the article was based for more of a female perspective. I think David C will do good no matter what type of entertainment he decides on. I agree with Miss R the David C fans are out there but the masses that wrote on the blogs before only did so after seeing it on the main Yahoo page.
Now in fairness if this was the year Carrie Underwood won and a guy had wrote the blog and gushed all over her,I guess you would get more guys commenting on her and wondering where all her fan base went, when in reality they are still there and alot of the females would of felt it was a male directed article.
I also feel it is sad that Clay's pending fatherhood took center stage, there are other issues that pertain to music that took a back seat to Clay that I felt were more important and given less attention to, will not go into which one's but when more attention is paid to a man who decides to take a different way of having a child opposed to to one that lost a child I think we have our priorities mixed up.
Just my thoughts....
Wednesday night... Let's go PENS!!!!
Trying to wake up now Zzzzzz Long night but a great one.
