Kristy Lee Cook Extends Her 15 Minutes
Regular readers of this blog throughout American Idol season 7 know I was never what you'd call a Kristy Lee Cook fan. Or even a Kristy Lee Cook tolerator. But as an intrepid and (ahem) impartial music journalist of the highest and most respectable order, I feel obligated to report the following:
KLC has landed a record deal, y'all.
Ironically, it seems Kristy has won back what she already had: a contract with Arista Nashville.
See, as widely reported by Vote For The Worst et al, Kristy was originally signed to Arista Nashville in 1999 (see press-release photo at right), but she got dropped before she ever released an album.
She did, however, release this low-budget video, which troublingly earned her the nickname "KKKristy" due to its unfortunately un-PC set dressing:
Hopefully now that Kristy is back on Arista with a presumably bigger (read: Carrie Underwood-esque) budget, whoever directs her next video will wisely refrain from using Confederate flags as props.
Amusingly, though, KLC's upcoming single (out August 11) will be titled "15 Minutes Of Shame." Maybe the girl's actually got a good sense of humor after all.
And maybe now Kristy can finally buy back her horse.
And hey...maybe this news indicates that Carly Hennessy-Smithson will get back her old record deal with MCA, too! Stay tuned.
As far as I can remember, flash_08 has already completed his/her thesis on how media affects people's mind (or something like that) using Lyndsey's RR forum; and disfavors on KLC was his example which was 'exploited' to the favor of the thesis. So I am not sure he/she will start the extravagant defense on KLC anymore :) (i still sense some kind of 'attack' coming though....hahaha...kiddin')
As for Joe T, congrats to you man. KLC gets a deal before M-John, B-White, or J-Castro. In this moment, i'm sure you're having the time of your life. Hope she does great with the new deal.
Lindsey, please don't only recap the result show of this week's SYTYCD? It's fun to read your recap on the performance, not only the result show...Have you ever watched the show live?

I do miss the great comments and conversations that started on Lyndsey's AI blog, we all had some fun and got into topics sometimes that had nothing to do with the show ex. religion, politics, relationships, the troops etc. etc.
Not sure why Lyndsey has chosen not to get to much involved with "SYTYCD", I was gone for a few weeks and looked back at the past blogs and there seemed to be a lack of comments from her on the Wednesday show or the results show, Not saying there weren't comments but one time combined with one of the other dance shows.
Just my Thoughts...
I mean if Brittany Spears could pull it off and she sang so so.
