Clay Aiken: Daddy Dearest!

Posted Fri Aug 8, 2008 11:09am PDT by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks

Well, the miracles of modern science never cease. Clay Aiken's officially a father, y'all.

Yes, Clay's test tube non-lovechild with his BFF, record producer Jaymes Foster (who is woman, in case you were unsure), was hatched this morning.

I could write something even snarkier here, but to be honest, the shock/awe/disgust of the original news of Clay's fatherhood has worn off a smidge since Clay and Jaymes's jawdropping pregnancy announcement was made some time ago. So I guess I'll just say congrats to the Foster-Aikens, and leave it at that.

It's boy, by the way, and his name is Parker Foster Aiken. As far as I know, this bundle of in vitro joy was not named after me...but hey, in my demented mind I'd like to imagine he was. "Parker" has such a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Anyhoo, proud papa Clay wrote on his blog today: "The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy."

Yikes! Does that mean he'll be on American Idol season 27 someday? With a name like Parker, this kid is sure to be a star.

Woah I totally forgot about the whole "Clay Aiken is gonna be a daddy" thing. Lolz. Well MAJOR congrats (I've given a lot of these lately, especially after SYTYCD last night) to Mr. Aiken and Ms. Foster. Hopefully little Parker would follow in his father's footsteps in music...this would be a great sight to see.

I read about this on E!Online (I think) this morning and what struck me the MOST was that the baby was born at 8:08 a.m. on 08/08/08!!!
I don't know if this means anything, but I thought it was cool.

3. Writeheart -
Okay, I've just read the article again and NOW they've edited it to include what I already noticed. HA! But then I noticed something else...the baby weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz.(6+2=8); the baby was 19 inches long(9-1=8). Now that I'm really creeped out, I'm done. lol.

A true sign of disrespect here......things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmm

Homosexual or not, Clay Aiken is known for his kindness and mentoring to children (stop with the Michael Jackson comparison folks). This child will be raised by a loving father with a better than middle class income. Plus, his father obviously really wants him. Better start than most.

6. wanda r -
Well you can say anything you want about clay at least he wants to be a father, and not running for the hills. Just because the baby was not made the old fashion way hes here now deal with that, and stop comparing him to Michael Jackson

7. Krissy -
Seriously,..I agree. There is NOTHING wrong with invitro (sp?) pregnancies. There are too many guys who run off and dont give a crap about their kids. So at least he WANTS to be a father! Congrats to both of them!

8. Krissy -
Just because they didnt have sex..he is a sperm donor and nothing more??? Watever. You dont know that! He could be a GREAT father! People are tooooo fkn quick to judge!

9. Krissy -
People are TOOOO quick to judge!! Just because they didnt have sex doesnt mean he is going to run off. No, i dont know him so i dont know for sure but no one else does either! He could be a GREAT father for all we know..Just cause they didnt have sex doesnt mean he is nothing but a sperm donor. Some people are so pessimistic and immature!

well,i've been an aiken fan since the try outs of idol. whatever his sexual preference is, so what as long as the baby is wanted and loved.it doesn't matter about the conception method in the words of the great maury povich clay is the baby's father.

11. Alan -
Welcome to the freakshow.

I don't believe that homosexuality is ok and I never will. However, I won't bash the person for his/her decision. I am concerned for the baby and what lessons he will be taught by his "conception". He will find out one day and it may not be nice. I feel so sorry about the bad decisions people make out of their selfish want for a child. They don't take time to think of the child.

Would you people, who are bashing clay, rather read about a baby that has been abused, beaten, etc..... etc..... or that a child has been born into the world to a proud nuturing parent. Make up your minds people.

I Agree with jelliot4670 who are you to judge anyone there only one that can judge someone and it's not all of you that are clay bashing.i wish clay and his baby boy all the happiness and and love in the world .way to go clay.

15. KathyP -
I want to say three cheers to jellio4670. Right on!!!!Makes me wonder why it seems o.k. to bash anyone for what ever reason.

16. Its ME!!! :0) -
Okay, well first off CONGRATS to Clay on lil Parker. That is awesome. I do not believe it is how a child comes into the world, but how much that child is loved. So why bash the dude for getting the most precious gift in life...a child. CONGRATS agian.

to "Q": A FATHER is an ACTIVE male parental figure in a childs life, REGARDLESS of whose sperm it is. And by the way (regardless of Clay's sexual preference) wtf does MJ have to do with a MAN wanting to be a father. Looks like someone (*AHEM* Q) had some daddy issues.

Im confused. Did they just decide not to have sex or was there complications? You mean to tell me he didnt want to hit it??

19. Erica -
How do you have sex with your best friend. That's just gross. She also looks like she could be Clay's mom....

I guess he wasn't considering looks when he was looking for an egg! He's cuter than she is. (shame on me)
