America's Best Dance Crew 2: Fanny Pak Sent Packin'

Last week on America's Best Dance Crew 2, Fanny Pak received the first standing ovation from the judges of the whole season--including guest judge Missy Elliott!!--after their completely amazing and freaky interpretation of Missy's "Get Ur Freak On":

And yet, even after that amazing performance, Fanny Pak still didn't get the most votes, and so they ended up on the chopping block last night.

In the words of judge Lil' Mama: AMERICA, ARE YOU SERIOUS?

So then Fanny Pak and the other crew in the bottom two, Super Cr3w, had to battle it out for a spot in next week's finale. But I wasn't worried. I figured Fanny Pak had this one in the bag. Or in the pack, so to speak. Because the theme was '80S NIGHT, and Fanny Pak are all about the '80s. So they seemingly had an edge going into this competition, before they even slipped on their legwarmers. But then when did their Flashdance-themed routine, they were such maniacs on the dance floor, I assumed there was NO way they could lose.

And then, the judges (including Shane Sparks, who just earlier in the episode had predicted Fanny Pak would WIN this entire show) deliberated. And they chose to eliminate...Fanny Pak.

JUDGES, ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I guess humorless JC Chasez took it too personally when Fanny Pak made fun of his bowtie. Jerk. That's my only explanation here, but I can't believe that a performance like this--insanely creative, ridiculously entertaining, utterly unique, totally '80s--wasn't enough to guarantee Fanny Pak a shot in the finals.

Yes, Super Cr3w are a strong and athletic team, more than deserving of being in the top three...but come on, we've all seen their schtick before. But we ain't never seen a crew like Fanny Pak before--and now that they've been axed, we may never see anything like them again. Unless, of course, their leader Matt Cady gets a choreography gig on season 5 of So You Think You Can Dance, where his crazy creativity could give even Mia Michaels a run for her money. He's a genius.

Now please excuse me while I go write my "Boycott America's Best Dance Crew!" blog...

im very upset that the judges voted them off. Im very angry that so real crew got to stay on, because they were not that good. They have messed up on performances, but fanny pak has always kept it intact all the time. I wanted them to win the whole t hing, but the judges thought that the b-boy style should stay on. So pretty much i think that fanny pak was robbed of everything, but i hope that missy elliot wants them, because she could really use people with skills like that to help them grow and to show america best dance crew who really runs it!

i soo agree!! it should have been fanny pack and asiid in the top 2. dont be surprised if season 3 gets cancelled suddenly cuz the judges are total dumb***es and if they dont modify the rules SOMEHOW thats exactly whats gonna happen... GGRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

I was super pissed off when I saw that Fanny Pak went home. How is that the judges give them all this praise and yet still send them home. I really think they were trying to boost their ratings by doing something highly dramatic. Instead they did something highly stupid. They know Super Crew and So Real Cru don't compare to them. I must admit in the beginning I didn't think Fanny Pak was going to make it, but after seeing their creative and fun routines I knew they were going to blow it out of the park. I know America's jaw dropped when that happened. I turned the channel for 5 minutes thinking that Fanny Pak was going to make it to the finale. When I turned back to MTV I find Fanny Pak crying like their puppy died. Do you know how upset I was. I didn't know who to call to let my anger out. The finale is going to suck!!! I'm not saying that those two crews don't have any skills, its just their not as good as Fanny Pak. I really should have stopped watching the show when they sent ASIID home (they were my favorite group) but now I know the show was rigged. They need to make a surprise announcement on the next show saying that their going to bring Fanny Pak back and let them battle against the other two crews.

I was SOOOOO SHOCKED when they sent Fanny Pak home. I have to admit that I was one of the people who under-estimated Fanny Pak in the beginning, but after seeing their performance for Missy, and the 80's themed night, I thought they were going to win the WHOLE thing. But obviously that didn't happen. I have NO idea what the judges were thinking. I am a dedicated fan of ABDC, but they were SO wrong for eliminating Fanny Pak. In my opinion, So Real Crew is just a remake of the Jabbawokeez. And obviously both are very talented groups, but isn't time for a change??? I am going to watch the show tonite, because I'm a curious person....Let's just hope that they will make better choices than their previous ones.

i have to say this...WHAT THE HELL. The judges eliminated them? what is there problem. they are going to loose ratings 4 this cause did u hear the audience. They need to cut the crap and get them back on. DO YOU HEAR ME JUDGES. AND JC U R ON MY LIST.

I loved last season but this season didn't get my attention there was to much of the same thing (BBOY) and when real dancing did come out they were kick off! thier is no point to a dance show if real dancers aren't on it so yeah it sucks! And for the real dancers that aren't on the show (SUPREM SOUL, ASIID, FANNYPAK) i can garanty we'll see ya'll soon!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok first let me say n.barrett73 if you are really a fan or could read you would know it wasn't fanny back, but fanny PAK. moving on i think fanny pak was the best on the show and i can't believe that the judges would vote them off. it was and 80's challenge which was what they did. i like Super Cr3w and all but they didn't do half as good as fanny pak and i also agree with J.C. when he said SoReal Crew didn't outdance them. i was so mad and upset and i can't believe that fanny pak got voted off. just because Super Cr3w can do all of that breakdancing, fanny pak never had a bad week and got a friggin' stnading ovation only the week before. how can you give someone a standing ovations one week and the next kick them off when they didn't do bad at all. i think super cr3w didn't even get the challenge, the only thing that was 80's and from Footloose was the knee slide and the feet shuffle which wasn't all that great. i am very diappointed that the judges don't want diversity in the show and all hip hop dancers and i don't care who wins, it doesn't matter anymore.

I am so through with ABDC and I'm glad I'm not alone in that thought. Fanny Pak deserved to be there every step of the way-the won the support of everyone through their ingenuity and now they're gone?? I support the boycott of this show, Randy should have stepped up since obviously no one else wants to and set this crap straight!! I wish FP all the best, you guys are inspiration.

I believe that Fanny Pak should not have gotten cut. I had predicted that So Real Cru would be outta there after the performance that Fanny Pak gave the night that Missy was on the show. As a matter of fact, I believe Fanny Pak should win this season.

yes they did get cheated i thought this was america's best DANCE crew. they sent the only crew home who came out and danced and gave you a performance every time. this show is rigged.

I loved fanny pack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They were so creative and cool!But I really hate Supa Cru because they only do tricks but their newest dance is creative but not as good...=(

i totally thought that they got robed. those b.... dont know how to judge. especially that lil mama! the past up a good thing and i think every freaking body knows that!

I believe that the reason they were voted off was because of Shane. If you watch most of the shows, he would make comments about Fanny Pak "boys need to dance like boys" These comments he kept making really hurt them. The girls from Fanny pak alone are superior to the girls and guys from SoReal crew. If this show is to move on the judges need to stop making any harsh comments about any crew. Since it is to persuade everyone to vote for what they want. Also i think the whole voting system should be looked at. Lets just say that So Real crew had Twenty friends and those twenty friends called in over 200 times with a vote. I think that it should only count as one vote calling from the same number. I think that is why SoReal crew never was in the bottom. It is obvious, that they dont belong in the final round. They have been, from the start, very stiff and do the same moves over and over again.
