America's Best Dance Crew 2: Fanny Pak Sent Packin'
Last week on America's Best Dance Crew 2, Fanny Pak received the first standing ovation from the judges of the whole season--including guest judge Missy Elliott!!--after their completely amazing and freaky interpretation of Missy's "Get Ur Freak On":
And yet, even after that amazing performance, Fanny Pak still didn't get the most votes, and so they ended up on the chopping block last night.
In the words of judge Lil' Mama: AMERICA, ARE YOU SERIOUS?
So then Fanny Pak and the other crew in the bottom two, Super Cr3w, had to battle it out for a spot in next week's finale. But I wasn't worried. I figured Fanny Pak had this one in the bag. Or in the pack, so to speak. Because the theme was '80S NIGHT, and Fanny Pak are all about the '80s. So they seemingly had an edge going into this competition, before they even slipped on their legwarmers. But then when did their Flashdance-themed routine, they were such maniacs on the dance floor, I assumed there was NO way they could lose.

And then, the judges (including Shane Sparks, who just earlier in the episode had predicted Fanny Pak would WIN this entire show) deliberated. And they chose to eliminate...Fanny Pak.
JUDGES, ARE YOU SERIOUS?
I guess humorless JC Chasez took it too personally when Fanny Pak made fun of his bowtie. Jerk. That's my only explanation here, but I can't believe that a performance like this--insanely creative, ridiculously entertaining, utterly unique, totally '80s--wasn't enough to guarantee Fanny Pak a shot in the finals.
Yes, Super Cr3w are a strong and athletic team, more than deserving of being in the top three...but come on, we've all seen their schtick before. But we ain't never seen a crew like Fanny Pak before--and now that they've been axed, we may never see anything like them again. Unless, of course, their leader Matt Cady gets a choreography gig on season 5 of So You Think You Can Dance, where his crazy creativity could give even Mia Michaels a run for her money. He's a genius.
Now please excuse me while I go write my "Boycott America's Best Dance Crew!" blog...
Ultimately though I think America screwed both Fannypak & Super Crew because the voting should have had these two crews battling each other, as worthy opponents. I like SRC too but I'm sorry it just won't even be a competition, unless SRC pull some magic out of their hat, they're set to come in 2nd! So what's the point, with Super Crew & Fannypak, it would have been a crazy competition!!!!! It's too bad :( Good Luck to Fannypak, you guys are great!!!! They should make a So You Think You Can Dance show for dance groups, FP would take it all!!

"Judges are you serious" is right. It was unfortunate that both Super Crew & Fanny Pak were in the bottom but the judges should have saved Fanny Pak over Super Crew.
Super Crew is definitely athletic but no where near as creative and entertaining as Fanny Pak.
I think JC is extra hard on SoRealCrew...he has been for a few weeks now and I dont think his criticisms are fair. Dont get me wrong, I think it should be FP vs SC final...but he loses integrity with his bias. SRC has more ppl voting for them...thats not their fault. So it was a low blow to call out their team.
Goodluck to FannyPak! That would be awesome if Matt could work his magic in SoYouThink...

I believe that the reason they were voted off was because of Shane. If you watch most of the shows, he would make comments about Fanny Pak "boys need to dance like boys" These comments he kept making really hurt them. The girls from Fanny pak alone are superior to the girls and guys from SoReal crew. If this show is to move on the judges need to stop making any harsh comments about any crew. Since it is to persuade everyone to vote for what they want. Also i think the whole voting system should be looked at. Lets just say that So Real crew had Twenty friends and those twenty friends called in over 200 times with a vote. I think that it should only count as one vote calling from the same number. I think that is why SoReal crew never was in the bottom. It is obvious, that they dont belong in the final round. They have been, from the start, very stiff and do the same moves over and over again.
