Sanjaya Comes At You Fast

Posted Thu Aug 21, 2008 9:22am PDT by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks

Oh, Sanjaya Malakar, I've missed you so. Your creative hairdos that belong more on Shear Genius than onĀ American Idol, the way you can destroy a perfectly good Kinks song like nobody else, your ability to make little Ashley Ferl cry on cue...WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

The answer is, apparently Sanj has been shooting his own Kevin Federline-esque "Life Comes At You Fast" commercial for Nationwide Insurance. Except his commercial is waaay better than K-Fed's. He's wearing a fauxhawk! And trying to act! And singing! Kind of!

Somewhere out there in TV Land, Ashley Ferl is crying next to her plasma screen:

Welcome back, Sanjaya. Now all I need is for Danny Noriega to get his own Nationwide ad and I'll be weeping tears of joy, too...

Thanks for the updates LP Jr. For those interested--lolz: There’s also a website, where, according to the press release, “fans can upload a picture and try on various hairstyles, outfits and accessories worn by Sanjaya in the new ads and during "American Idol". LOLZ. When their look is complete, the Nationwide Sanjaya widget allows fans to share their new look with friends and family.” Nonetheless, for better or for worse, with all the attention he garnered during his Idol run endorsement deals seemed like a no-brainer for Sanjaya. Finally, I read that the new ad is one of 6 developed by Nationwide to reach South Asian American consumers. It will air on US cable stations that cater to the South Asian American audience.

BTW I read about a few repeat AI hopefuls (& one contestant from "Rock the Cradle") who made it through Round 1 for the upcoming season, including:

All the best!

Just be happy for him people! He has a commercial, you don't, so there! Good for you Sanjaya. Much success!

23. Mem -
He's poking fun at himself so we don't get to do it first! I for one love these kind of commercial, like the Geico one with Joan Rivers. The Kevin Federline Nationwide commercial was frickin' priceless! Everybody lighten up, they're just trying to extend their 15 minutes. You'd probably do it too, if the price was right.

24. Yahoo! Music User -
ook that's a dumb commercial

25. Gina J -
I don't know. I think Milli Vanilli was better.

26. MyOneandOnly -
He just looks stupid no matter what he does..

27. Yahoo! Music User -
PLEASE Enough is enough. Give it up already. You can't act or sing. Are these people that depserate to hire him for their company, doesnt say much for them does it. Now if your sister was doing the commercial, it might not be bad, she was a much better singer. Give up the FAUXHAWK, it looks like crap

28. ariel -
whats up with the hair???

29. Ivette -
Who cares about this people,,,,some people should get a real life

30. Michelle -
CAN'T SING! CAN'T ACT! I'm sure Nationwide could have done MUCH better. Poor Sanjaya...what the hell was he thinking?

31. SamG -
His voice sounds gay, but the last part was funny. And I think EVERYONE should tell Sanjaya to get a haircut.

32. no_one_ -
this guy is so trash it pains me to watch him.

33. no_one_ -
"girls adore me"... what a lady's man!

34. shiela -
he look funny and still trying hard to sing.

35. LEONA -
wow...

36. M. H -
OOps- sorry for the profanity!

That SHIZNIT was hilarious!

37. Yahoo! Music User -
HEYYYYY- I LIKED the K-Fed commercial!
It ws funny but these facial experssions are TOO MUCH!

38. Eric -
No...really...this crap wasn't even as funny as the K-Fed spot and really didn't make much sense at all! So, in summary, I got TWO WORDS FOR YA!

EPIC FAIL!!!

39. Yahoo! Music User -
SANJAYA U STINK u still dont have a voice but i was u 4 halloween last year and no1 gave me candy

{sassy}

40. Eric -
Well, then again, anyone who missed Sanjaya should really be questioned about their judgment anyway...
