Da Brat Headed To Da Slammer

Posted Fri Aug 22, 2008 4:25pm PDT by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks

Well, it's just been announced that Da Brat--old-skool rap icon, BFF of Mariah Carey, lone witness to the Mariah/Nick nuptials, and star of such reality gems as The Surreal Life, Celebrity Fit Club, and Celebrity Rap Superstar--will spend the next three years imprisoned not in a Surreal Life McMansion with Chyna Doll and Adrianne Curry or in a fitness bootcamp with Dustin Diamond, but in an actual prison.

Not sure which is worse, reallly...

In all seriousness, Da Brat's bratty ways have finally been punished, after she allegedly used the broken end of a rum bottle to slash the face of a waitress/nemesis at Jermaine Dupri's Studio 72 nightclub in Georgia. Brat was sentenced today by an Atlanta judge on charges of felony aggravated assault.

This isn't the first time Da Brat's been in trouble with da law...but really, any glimpse of some of her hot-headed scenes in past reality shows would have given the prosecution in this particular case all the ammo they needed to secure a conviction. See here:

DA BRAT'S 'CELEBRITY FIT CLUB' FIGHT WITH HARVEY WALDEN

DA BRAT'S 'SURREAL LIFE' SPAT WITH GO-GO JANE WIEDLIN

Da Brat may be bratty, but one thing's certain: She sure is good TV. Someone please give this celebreality C-lister her own pre-prison reality show, just like BET did with Lil' Kim! Please!

I feel sorry for the prison staff...she will be treated like a star by the other inmates and will only continue to wreak havoc. Those who are sying they hope she enjoys prison...no worries, she will.

What a disgusting and pathetic loser!!!!!She belongs in jail

103. Becka -
I saw that episode of Surreal Life where Da Brat called Jane a "has been"....isn't that the pot calling the kettle black????

I kinda feel sorry for her but that's the life she chose to live. She's always been like that and it's sad.
I pray for her

Plan and simple. She’s uneducated. And let’s not leave out the word ignorant!

106. MARIUSZR -
Your right fastsporty she is ignorant, so are are you against her actions or words or both, and how would you have done it if you were in her shoes or sneakers.?!

hahaha she should hook up with Kwame Kilpatrick, they'd make a great couple in their matching prisonwear :D

With everything going on in this world... who cares...

her victim should be able to carve da brat's face into a pumpkin grin then alls fair in love & war & da brat would be able to go through life smiling!

Back in the day I used to enjoy some of The Brat's music however, she should have known better and now she is going to have alot of time to think about what she did. What she did to this woman was totally uncalled for. It is one thing to rap about violence but to actually live that life and think that you can get away with it is stupid and I thought The Brat was smart enough to know that.

People with money think they can get away with just about anything. I hope you rot in jail.

113. abdul -

I think Da Brat is the Has Been. She made one hit song in the 90s and now what, Reality TV shows? She seems like the type of person that looks for this negative attention because she's not gettig any other kind of attention. She got what she deserved, time in jail, hopefully this will make her see that her attitude, or looks for that matter, is not cute. Grow up BRAT!!!

Actally, I loved Da Bratt in High School. I actually wish she would have come out with some more music. I would love to see her a Missy E. colab I hope she has learned a lesson. I cannot not hate at all. Sometimes people just get wrapped up in it all. I hope her future is Blessed.

You know what I agree that she should pay her dues for the crime she comitted. No doubt though Jane is a 'hasbeen', but the comments that a lot of you made on this blog is just pure hateful. This is the world we live in though. People could care less about the lives that are changed by their thoughts, WORDS, and deeds. I wish we were a more compassionate society. The Brat should go to jail, but these comments are just horrible.

I take it that the majority of the people leaving these comments are not Brat fans....and if that's the case, WHY even leave a comment. If you are not going to support someone then shut the hell up. I will admit she did the crime so now she will do the time. If you don't understand her why are you trying to talk about her? Thats the average persons problem in the first place. Running their mouth about something they have no clue about. She never once said I want to be a role model all she is, is an entertainer. Half of you folks probably do things 10 times worse than her yet you sit here and talk bad about her. I bet half of you don't even make an 1/8th of what she makes. In fact she will make more money in prison than most of you will make in a lifetime, you loosers! Get a life and get off of her back. Then get a job

It's a blog for heaven sake. I know there won't be the nicest things said but could we just focus on what was done and not be hateful. You make yourselves out to be monsters when you talk like that about others. What does that say about you as a person. I don't believe in censorship. People should be able to say what they feel, but I would hope your hearts wouldn't be so cold. I hope no one is offended, but if you are then maybe you should be. Hopefully this is thought provoking so some.

xxrisingxx.....I wish I would hear you say something like that. I would bust your tail and send you to the house. You know that's not the mentality of the military. I really hope that you don't have soldiers under you cause if you do you would have to be the worst NCO I have ever seen. If I was your PLT SGT I would send you home. Making a statement like that. What is your problem? Do you listen to any of your EO classes? In fact I know you can't be an NCO, you would make a great E5, not a Sergeant though. Sergeants take care of Soldiers, they listen, and they are understanding and they don't see color. If you don't know....LEARN THE CREED OF THE NONCOMMISSION OFFICER. Think about it....and yes I am in the Army too. Been there done that. You are probably about to get chaptered anyway, darn waste of air.
