Da Brat Headed To Da Slammer

Well, it's just been announced that Da Brat--old-skool rap icon, BFF of Mariah Carey, lone witness to the Mariah/Nick nuptials, and star of such reality gems as The Surreal Life, Celebrity Fit Club, and Celebrity Rap Superstar--will spend the next three years imprisoned not in a Surreal Life McMansion with Chyna Doll and Adrianne Curry or in a fitness bootcamp with Dustin Diamond, but in an actual prison.

Not sure which is worse, reallly...

In all seriousness, Da Brat's bratty ways have finally been punished, after she allegedly used the broken end of a rum bottle to slash the face of a waitress/nemesis at Jermaine Dupri's Studio 72 nightclub in Georgia. Brat was sentenced today by an Atlanta judge on charges of felony aggravated assault.

This isn't the first time Da Brat's been in trouble with da law...but really, any glimpse of some of her hot-headed scenes in past reality shows would have given the prosecution in this particular case all the ammo they needed to secure a conviction. See here:

Da Brat, perhaps da sad idiot of da century, is only upstaged by her inability to demonstrate civilized behavior. She does not deserve da publicity, and just maybe she may learn while in da jailhouse that da English preposition "the" is not spelled "da".

Yes, she is defintely self-absorbed, arrogant, and has anger problems. She actually punched this guy at an alternative club in Dallas for filming her. He was dumb not to press charges.

Wow, i never would have thought the brats personality was so crappy. she gives black folks a bad rep(that tantrum she put onembrassed me), with the attitude and acting like her boo,boo don't stink. Her, Remy Ma and Foxy Brown needs some soul searching. it goes to show you can take them out the hood but hood is all they know. I hope she enjoys her time in the pen where they're attitudes that makes hers look like mary poppins.

Because she had become famous at an earlier age, she just postponed her criminal career. If she never had been famous, she would have served her first sentence around 19 y/o. It was inevitable that she would go to jail...it was her natural destiny to be criminal. Hope she finds herself a nice girlfriend on the inside to take care of her.

She is no different than the rest of the rap community. If you take uneducated gangsters, drug dealers, thieves, crack heads, pimps, etc. and make them music icons because they can rhyme with ebonics made up of words that dont exist in a dictionary, you end up with a bunch of rich uneducated gangsters, drug dealers, thieves, crack heads, pimps, etc.

Some of you people have no clue! Yes Da Brat was wrong and she should be punished for her crimes. You people have called her "D and C listers". You should do some research before you spew hot garbage out of your mouths. She was one, if not the first famale rap solo artist to have a platinum album. She have several songs that have cracked the Billbord top 100. She has been featured on several hit Mariah Carey songs. By no means am I condoning her behavior, but don't call her a D lister, just because your not familiar with her career or rap music!
