Song Of The Day: Albert Hammond Jr., "GfC"

The debut single from the Strokes guitarist's new album shows his fuzzy-'fro'd head is still swimming in Sixties nostalgia. With guitars that alternately recall the choppy jive of Iggy and the Stooges' "The Passenger" and the loopy doodles of classic Cali rock, "GfC" builds its punchy melody on a thunking bass line and a hoarse yowl. It's a garage tune for a spin on the 101.

That little play button is mighty powerful thing.
Let there be rock.
So dang cool. It just works like a charm and that's all there is to it. Wow.
