In 1983, an ad copywriter and studio engineer pumped up the volume vaudeville-style with snippets of the Supremes, Indeep, Bohannon, Culture Club, dance instruction records, and all manner of electro-rap. Their collage won a Tommy Boy contest; reissued a quarter-century later, it still sounds fresssssh.
