Song of the Day: Pink, "So What"

Posted Fri Sep 12, 2008 7:16am PDT by Chuck Eddy in Rolling Stone Song Of The Day

In a singsong-y conniption that presupposes familiarity with her personal life, the lady who invented high-volume shemo pop loses her hubbie, gets drunk and adopts what she claims is a "new attitude" - namely, getting in trouble and starting fights. How that's "new" isn't clear, but no big whoop. The chorus is all ready-made shouts about being a "rock star" - just like lots of other hits lately. But as surefire formulas go, turning angst into a party isn't a bad one.
