Song of the Day: Dragonforce, "Heartbreak Armageddon"

Brit guitar heroes ply their usual power-metal-wank-as-videogame-schlock shtick, for eight minutes. But this time, the chorus hook (about everlasting freedom and dreams at the end of the world!) sticks with you. And four minutes in, the pomp turns pretty.

Dragonforce - Heartbreak Armageddon

I have one of the first copies of Dragonforce's "Ultra Beatdown", and I've actually heard that song. While it's true that the middle part has a slow, balladish feel to it, suddenly it forcibly leads you to the TwinBlast followed by the KeyBlast. This CD shows how Dragonforce has definitely matured.

Dragonforce are GREAT! Until you figure out song 1 sounds just like song 4 and song 4 sounds just like song 9. They only have a few distinctive tunes. As for this one...eh...it's ok, but not "of the day"

If you are really looking for something interesting in rock go check the English band ZAPPATiKA on Myspace ....they are great musicians and totally off the wall ! Just what the world needs right now - some humour in music!!
