Song of the Day: Misfits, "Halloween"
Every day is Halloween for horror-punk progenitors and professional skeletons the Misfits, but today we're all on the same page. On this 1981 single, the band sprints through two minutes of Glenn Danzig howling about "candy apples and razorblades" and "pumpkin faces in the night," while buzzsaw guitars and shoddily-recorded-but-awesome drums rattle away in the background. Forget the "Monster Mash," Halloween was meant to rock like this.
