Where Is Steven Tyler?

Posted Thu Aug 13, 2009 10:23am PDT by Billy Johnson, Jr. in Stop The Presses!

The Aerosmith with ZZ Top tour is scheduled to play an amphitheater in Auburn, Washington Monday, August 17, but it is unclear whether that date will happen as planned.

The past five shows were postponed last week when Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler, 61, fell off the stage in South Dakota and was airlifted to an area hospital.

Even Tyler's bandmates don't know the latest on his condition. Band lead guitarist Joe Perry told a Detroit radio station that they were waiting to receive an update on Steven's health. "I don't know what they are going to say," Joe told WCSX during a live interview Tuesday. "The original diagnosis that we heard was that his shoulder blades was broken in two."

Joe added that Steven looked badly hurt the night of the incident. "When I saw him walk by he was bleeding pretty bad, but apparently he didn't do anything internally that they could find, no concussion," Joe explained. "He hit his head pretty bad. His back. [It was] basically [like] a bad bar fight and someone had a baseball bat."

Joe told another radio station that Steven would be "sore for a while," reported People.com. "I've seen him fall off a stage more than once," Joe told Chicago's 97.9 The Loop. "I've fallen off...stuff happens."

Joe has kept busy while sitting out the tour dates. Sunday he joined Jane's Addiction's closing Lollapalooza set in Chicago. Jane's Addition lead singer Perry Farrell acknowledged Steven in his introduction, "Our prayers go out to Steven Tyler."

Ticketmaster has advised those who purchased tickets for postponed dates in Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver to keep their tickets. "They will be honored on the rescheduled date. Upon announcement of new concert dates, information for ticket buyers that are unable to attend will also be released."

There wouldn't be a S.Tyler without a Les Paul. Love to them both. Even when Tyler gets better there's going to be nerve damage and pain for years. I hope and pray he's better than what it sounds like. He's the MAN! I don't care if he's my moms age, he still does it for me! Sing to me baby.....

Pinetop Perkins' 80-year career still going

AP

AP - Noisy crowds in smoky bars don't bother 96-year-old bluesman Pinetop Perkins. It's all part of his job. Most nights, after he snuffs out his menthol cigarette, Perkins slides onto the piano bench in some club and … More »
