Ring In The New Year With Radiohead!

Posted Mon Dec 31, 2007 5:55pm PST by Lyndsey Parker in Video Ga Ga

So, to quote the perennial holiday singalong, what are you doing New Year's Eve? Shoehorning yourself into some overcrowded, overpriced, overtrendy club where you'll spend 75 bucks for a "champagne toast" with a glass of what is probably $2 hooch? Desperately trying to find someone, anyone, to smooch at the midnight hour? Sitting at home watching Carson Daly's ball drop on TV?

Heck no. You're doing something cool this New Year's Eve. You're inviting your buddies over, popping over some proper bubbly, obsessively setting up your computer speakers, and blasting Radiohead's In Rainbows concert...right here on your (OK) computer!

Yes, in 2007 Radiohead made music-biz history by self-releasing In Rainbows online and letting fans name their price for it. And now as 2008 kicks off, they're making history again, commemorating the "official" release of In Rainbows with this ring-in-the-new-year concert, shot at their private Oxford, England studio and featuring a whole bunch of songs you've never seen performed before.

"This is a wee celebration of the release of the physical manifestation of In Rainbows," says Thom Yorke as only Thom Yorke can. And hey, a wee celebration is the best kind of New Year's celebration, if Radiohead is involved! So crank it up...and feel free to smooch your monitor at midnight, if you so please:
