Mick Jagger Side Projects

There are not many rock & roll artists who have a catalogue of work as large as Mick Jagger does. Although most fans are familiar with the depth of his work with the Rolling Stones and his multiple solo efforts, fewer are familiar with his work in a supporting role for other artists. In fact, Mick Jagger has tried his hand in many different aspects of the entertainment business. In addition to songwriting and singing he's also worked as an actor, filmmaker, producer and business manager. Mick is also a father to seven children by four different women, and he holds the title of "Sir" after being knighted by the Prince of Wales on December 12, 2003. His knighthood has disappointed some who felt the honor was not a good fit for a Rolling Stone. The backlash included negative public comments from his own bandmates. Charlie Watts was quoted by Rolling Stone magazine as saying, "Anybody else would be lynched: 18 wives and 20 children and he's knighted, fantastic!", and Keith Richards is on record as saying that he did not want to take the stage with a "coronet and sporting the old ermine. It's not what the Stones is about, is it?"

Thankfully, the band is on record as saying that the infighting is much like a tiff among brothers, and Mick Jagger shows no signs of slowing down, even as he comes up on his 66th birthday this summer.

This playlist includes songs that Mick Jagger appears on outside of his solo records or as a member of the Rolling Stones.
