Top 10 Songs About Monday

Posted Mon Oct 19, 2009 5:37pm PDT by Robert of the Radish in The Y! Music Playlist Blog

The average person will see about 4,040 Mondays in their lifetime. And outside of the few short years before you start school and the time you spend on vacation, or retired, Mondays are the most hated days on the planet. Of course, if you love your job, this doesn't have to be the case, but unfortunately, a sizable chunk of the workforce does in fact, hate their job. This simple truth has given rise to a plethora of Monday songs, most of which speak negatively about the day. For this playlist I have taken a shot at collecting what I feel are the very best songs ever recorded about Monday. Let me know which songs you would add and which you would remove.

And if you hate Monday's give this list a spin, it may just help you make it through until Tuesday.

For God's sake! Get rid of this stupid, relentless spam!!

Also, great ol' song:

'From Monday On' - Bing Crosby

4. Yahoo! Music User -
When I saw the topic I immediately thought of "Rainy days and Mondays" by the Carpenters. Think that ought to be somewhere on that list. Otherwise its interesting.

577 Mondays is only about 11 years. So, what is that supposed to mean? Our life expectancy is not even 12 years?

6. Yahoo! Music User -
I definitely HATE my crappy job. However, it (barely) beats being fricking homeless.

7. Karen -
Yahoo! Music user, I've both had jobs I've hated and have been homeless...believe me, you're right.

Anyway, there is actually an UPBEAT Monday song: "Monday Morning" by Fleetwood Mac. I KNOW it doesn't fit...I'm just sayin'.

This country has gone straight to Hades over the past 25 years or so. I am well educated and I changed professions 26 years ago. These braindead, lazy, pieces of garbage they hire would not know what work was if it bit them in the rearend. My superiors are even worse! I would hate to see what the world will be like after I am gone. There is an upside: I will hopefully be dead in a few years.

9. Jerry -
"Monday Morning" by Fleetwood Mac - would be a great opening song to this mix (just as it was a great opener to the Fleetwood Mac(1975) album)

Plus I'd much rather hear it than "Manic Monday" - gack!

"Come Monday", Jimmy Buffett, 1974. His first top 40 hit.

Another good Monday song is "Bank Holiday Monday" by Stereophonics...maybe just a touch strange, but really good.
Also, the spam is getting really annoying. There're plenty of sites made espaecially for spineless retards posrting their invites all over the net.
