Top 10 Songs About Friday

Posted Tue Oct 27, 2009 7:02pm PDT by Robert of the Radish in The Y! Music Playlist Blog

In most countries Friday is the last day of the work week. So people are generally in a good mood and surprisingly productive when Friday rolls around. After all, they have the whole weekend to look forward to. The acronym T.G.I.F. (Thank God It's Friday) is a popular phrase that highlights the longing and affection that regular working stiffs have for Friday. Since most songwriters find themselves punching a clock before they make it big, it's no surprise that there are a large number of songs inspired by Friday. For this playlist I have selected what I feel are the 10 best.

What songs would you add?

A good list, indeed.
The only one I would add is "His Girl Friday" by The Academy Is...
Have to say that and "Friday I'm In Love" are my favorite Friday songs.

2. Angel -
not interested in the y radish friday music blogs or any other music from radish! sorry dude!

3. Yahoo! Music User -
Lately, I try to work 7 days per week, to keep my head above water. Therefore, Friday does not mean s**t to me......

4. Ronson -
Sorry, you hate the Radish Dude, Angel. But, you can purchase some very, very crappy knock off merchandise, salvaged from dumpsters, at this comments section.

5. Gerry -
Magnificent list, Robert! Glad to see Genesis (when they were grreat) and Sonny Rollins (and Thelonious Monk) make it. Great songs all. One more to add on:

"Fridays"-Joe Jackson

6. Jerry -
Robert, Nice list (as were all the days) but you gotta put Love & Kisses "Thank Got It Friday". Say what you will about disco but that song (from the film of the same name) is pretty groovin' .

Others to consider: "Good Friday" by Black Crowes. "Friday Night" by Dennis Wilson off of "Pacific Ocean Blue"

7. Linda -
to the person who wrote that terrible piece about miley. leave the child alone . what wrong with ,u r u jelous? she is a good artist. she has a beatiful voice.,and u cant get anywhere so u have to put her down . i hope u lose ur job. to miley u go girl, ur smile is beautiful and ur a wonderful artist. dont listen to bad reviews. just put them behind u. and keep going. dont ever let them get to u. God bless u continue to make great songs.
