Ky-Mani Marley has also done well musically, scoring a Grammy nomination in 2002 for his sophomore album, Many More Roads, in the best reggae album category. Marley's brother, Damian Marley, ended up winning in the category, but it appears that Ky-Mani Marley has won the love of film directors.
In related news, Aston "Familyman" Barrett, a former member of Bob Marley & The Wailers, will have his day in court over claims that he's been cheated out of band royalties. London's High Court ruled Friday (March 28) that Barrett should be allowed to proceed with a lawsuit stemming from the money dispute.
"One Love/People Get Ready" was the title of one of the band's biggest hits. The song was on the album Exodus. The classic release originally came out in 1977, four years before Marley died of cancer at age 36 in 1981. Since his death, there have been several lawsuits over his estate and recordings.
