The Bravery is based in New York and Endicott explained why many people in the group's hometown seem to dislike them as well: "That city has a tendency to destroy the bands that are popular, which is really sad in a way. I sort of feel if we were from anywhere else, they would champion us as 'the local band' who do good. However, to be clear, that does not represent New York as a whole. Just a small community of people who are real a--es."
The members of the Bravery added that a recent story in British magazine NME about the band collaborating with fellow New Yorkers the Strokes on an album was unfounded.
The Bravery will alternate with the Raveonettes as openers for Depeche Mode this fall, beginning on November 2 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
