Claim Highest-Grossing Country Tour

Yahoo! Music, Jul 12, 2001 6:00 pm PDT
(7/12/01, 6 p.m. ET) -- Brooks & Dunn's Neon Circus & Wild West Show featuring Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, and Keith Urban has been named the top-grossing country tour for the first half of 2001 by Pollstar. The tour finished overall at Number 11, following such pop stars as U2, the Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, Matchbox Twenty, Jimmy Buffett, and Sting.

"The Pollstar thing is a huge honor," said Ronnie Dunn. "They keep score for everyone who's out there doing it night after night. When you're in the midst of doing it, you don't always have time to stop and think about how it's going. You're doing the shows, meeting the fans, and keeping your eye on the ball, so when you read something like this, it makes you feel like it's working."

The duo's new single, "Only In America," climbs to the Number 20 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The song is the follow-up to the group's six-week Number One hit, "Ain't Nothing Bout You." Brooks & Dunn will grace the cover of the August-September issue of Country Music magazine.
