'Sweet' On Grammy Nod

Yahoo! Music, Feb 12, 2001 10:00 am PST
(2/12/01, 10 a.m. ET) -- With little more than a week before the 43rd annual Grammy Awards, Nashville's nominees are preparing to head out to Los Angeles for the big event. Among the attendees will be Brooks & Dunn, who garnered a nod for best country performance-duo/group with vocal for "You'll Always Be Loved By Me, a cut off their Tight Rope album.

As a duo, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have cornered the market on awards of all kinds, but a Grammy is in a class all by itself, as Brooks tells LAUNCH. "You know, Ronnie and I have never really been media darlings or critics' choice," he says. "We've had a great career and have kind of made the music we wanted to, but that hasn't really been our forte, and so to get a nod from the Grammys for us it is kind of sweet, 'cause the Grammys do have a real hip factor to them."

Brooks & Dunn's new single, "Ain't Nothing 'Bout You," sits at Number 48 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
