Take A Cue From Barnum & Bailey

Yahoo! Music, Apr 2, 2001 7:00 am PDT
(4/2/01, 7 a.m. ET) -- Brooks & Dunn's Neon Circus & Wild West Show promises fans a fun-filled event for people of all ages. In addition to the musical talent, which includes Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, and master of ceremonies/comedian Cledus T. Judd, concert-goers will witness some things they've probably never seen the likes of before.

The carnival-like atmosphere is something Brooks & Dunn have been wanting to create for awhile, as Brooks tells LAUNCH. We've talked about getting carnies and stuff for years, and we finally broke down and actually went through the whole deal of interviewing guys that eat fire and do rope tricks and all that," he says. "We hired all these guys to come out in between the acts. You see in between acts, people walk around with that glazed-over look on their face at every concert, you know? It's just like waiting for the next act, and we're just determined to keep it stirred up non-stop, so hopefully the whole thing'll be fun."

According to Dunn, the sideshow talent is varied but impressive. "There's a tattoo artist, there's a face painter coming in from Disney World and all that kind of stuff, and everything's done under the guise of rodeo clown motif," he says. "Most of those guys are kind of like Cirque du Soleil, where they go out and they work the audience. They actually interact with them, not from the stage, but in the audience and all that. There's a goat that blows bubbles...stuff like that."

Brooks & Dunn's Neon Circus & Wild West Show kicks off on April 28 in Birmingham, Alabama. The duo's current single, "Ain't Nothing 'Bout You," sits at Number Six on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
