Brooks & Dunn Celebrate ACM Win In N.Y.C.

Yahoo! Music, May 29, 2002 1:00 pm PDT
(5/29/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Brooks & Dunn celebrated their ACM entertainer of the year win last week (May 22) with a very special invitation-only concert under the big top in New York City's Central Park, where they joined the New York Symphony Orchestra for a party to mark the retirement of the Hearst Corporation's CEO.

The super-duo had the audience of socialites on their feet and howling, and leading the crowd was David Brown, husband of Cosmopolitan creator and former editor-in-chief Helen Gurley Brown. "We look out in the crowd and there's this man seriously into it," Kix Brooks said. "When we found out who he was, we just shook our heads! No wonder the Cosmo woman is so completely freewheeling and free-spirited: if that's the kind of man she's attracted to, then these are women who know how to get it done."

Following the party, the duo's entourage jumped into their cars and headed for the noted New York club Hogs & Heifers, where no less than Paul McCartney has danced on the bar and Julia Roberts has left her bra behind to join the hundreds of others of others dangling from above the bar.
