Cheap Trick Guitarist Dodging The Taxman

Yahoo! Music, Apr 15, 2002 12:00 pm PDT
(4/15/02, 12 p.m. ET) -- Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen will likely be keeping a low profile Monday (April 15). The band recorded a song called "Taxman, Mr. Thief" on its debut album in 1977.

Nielsen tells LAUNCH, "It's a nod to the IRS. I've been audited every year since that thing came out. They never got me on anything, but I think that somebody got mad. Gee, I wonder why?"

The latest Cheap Trick releases are the remastered edition of Live At Budokan and the Music For Hangovers DVD and VHS tape.

The band plays a run of U.K. dates later this month before hitting the road in the U.S. again on May 3.
