A person with knowledge of the situation says Chris Brown does not intend to perform at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Austria, contrary to what organizers have said.

The person, who was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity, says the R&B singer never committed to perform at the concert in Vienna. Jackson's brother Jermaine said earlier Wednesday that he was confident Brown would appear.

Promoter Georg Kindel said during a press conference in London that a Los Angeles judge handling Brown's criminal case was scheduled to rule Wednesday on whether Brown could attend. No motion had been filed with the judge, who must approve Brown's international travel.

Brown is serving five years' probation for beating his former girlfriend, Rihanna.
