(11/2/00, 5 p.m. ET) - Chris LeDoux was recently moved from the transplant care unit of Nebraska Health System University Hospital in Omaha into the Cooperative Care Unit, a more home-like setting especially designed for recovering patients. The singer, who underwent liver transplant surgery on October 7, is listed in good condition, and doctors plan to release him in the near future.
In the meantime, LeDoux's fans have been organizing and participating in fundraisers and rallies to heighten awareness of the need for organ donors. One such event, which was billed as "The World's Largest Chris LeDoux Rally," took place last month at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth, Texas. During the evening more than 1,700 fans signed a get-well card for the singer, while 600 people registered themselves as organ and tissue donors.
LeDoux's new single, "He Rides The Wild Horses," was recently shipped to radio stations across the country. The song is the second single off LeDoux's most recent album, Cowboy, which was released on August 1.
