Christina Aguilera To Sing At Pirates Home Opener And On TV

(3/30/00, 7 a.m. ET) - Grammy Award-winner and Pittsburgh native Christina Aguilera will sing the National Anthem at the Pittsburgh Pirates home opener against the Houston Astros at Three Rivers Stadium on April 3. The game is set to start at 7:05 p.m. ET. Aguilera will follow that performance with an April 8 performance of her new single "I Turn To You" on NBC's Saturday Night Live. Then, on April 11, Aguilera will perform the same song on The Rosie O'Donnell Show.Aguilera was the only woman asked to perform at VH1's Men Strike Back concert along with **D'Angelo**, **Sting**, the Backstreet Boys, Enrique Iglesias, and Tom Jones. The show will be recorded on April 11, and will premiere on VH1 on April 18.

Aguilera is also scheduled to perform a one-hour show at the Tulip Time Festival at the Holland Municipal Stadium in Holland, Michigan, on May 19. The performance will be her first U.S. concert date this year, taking place between her already scheduled European and Latin American tours. In addition, the singer will open California's Mid-State Fair 2000 in her only scheduled California appearance this year. Aguilera's full tour schedule will officially be released shortly.
