"We were honored to be a part of this great event, and to have had the opportunity to meet President and Mrs. Bush and Vice President and Mrs. Cheney," said Black. "It was a very busy yet invigorating weekend, and it was a pleasure to take part in the festivities by performing at the gala."
At the event, the new President welcomed the Blacks and suggested they pay him a visit at the White House in the future.
With a new baby due in May, the couple is taking it easy and staying off the road. While at his Los Angeles home, Black is finding time to work on a new album in his own recording studio, and the project just might have another duet with the singer's wife. Their first duet, "When I Said I Do," hit the top of the country charts and won both Country Music Association and TNN vocal collaboration awards.
