Courtney Love sued by management firm
Reuters, Jul 23, 2008 2:00 am PDTRock-star widow Courtney Love has been sued by a management firm for allegedly failing to pay commissions for the partial sale of her share of the Nirvana publishing catalogue. Love, the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, sold a portion of the catalogue for $19.5 million last year. London was hired to provide business management services to Love and was to be paid 5% of the revenues received by Love, according to the lawsuit.
The suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Tuesday by the management firm London & Co.
Love's attorney, Howard Weitzman, said of the allegations, "I'm aware there's an issue between London Co. and Courtney, but I have not seen the lawsuit."
London is asking for $975,000 it claims it is owed as well as costs of the suit.
