Daughtry announces arena tour dates

Chris Daughtry and the rock band that bears his name are only halfway through a string of summer club dates celebrating the chart-topping album "Leave This Town," but their next extended jaunt through North American arenas is already set.

The big-room leg of the tour kicks off October 19 in Topeka, Kan., and winds up on December 20 in Evansville, Ind.

As Chris Daughtry previously told Billboard, the band has some surprises planned for fans as the show is upgraded to the larger venues.

"It's the first time where we actually get to use some big production," he said, "so maybe some pyro, who knows. It would be kind of fun to mess around with that."

"Leave This Town" was released in mid-July, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 and has remained in the top 10 ever since. In the latest tally, released Wednesday, the album sits at No. 8, having already sold a total of 514,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Ticket information about the upcoming arena shows can be found at daughtryofficial.com.
