Il Divo's record label Sony/BMG is holding open auditions in New York on June 6 to find four "sexy and charismatic" men aged 20 to 35 with strong Broadway/pop voices.
Auditions have also been held in London, where the members of "BROADWAY 4" will be chosen at the end of June. Producers said they hope the group will be an "international sensation."
The operatic Il Divo was created by "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell. This time Sony has teamed up with British music producer Jonathan Shalit, who discovered schoolgirl sensation Charlotte Church in 1997.
"In the same way that Il Divo, sellers of 18 million CDs, perform popular opera songs, BROADWAY 4 will record the world's best-loved Broadway songs," Shalit said in a statement on Wednesday.
