Badu and Common will be panelists Friday (October 11) during the first session that is intended to focus on the conference theme, Taking Back Responsibility: Empowering Our Youth, at 11 a.m. on October 11. The discussion to be held at the Adolphus Hotel and lead by Minister Benjamin Muhammad will include Russell Simmons, D.O.C., State Senator Royce West, and other local community and entertainment executives.
The second discussion will address hip-hop economic development, hip-hop political empowerment, and developing the Dallas-Ft. Worth Hip-Hop Summit Youth Council.
On Saturday (October 12), the final day of the conference, summit participants will visit the Dallas Juvenile Detention Center at 9:30 a.m., and will resume at the Texas Academy Of Arts & Letters to address youth voter mobilization, and hold a Get Out The Vote rally in conjunction with Ron Kirk, democratic candidate for United States senate.
Registration for the conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday (October 11).
