Lilith Fair returning in 2010 with 18-city tour

Reuters, Oct 28, 2009 5:57 pm PDT
Lilith Fair, the women's music festival that ran for three years during the 1990s, will re-launch with an 18-city tour in 2010, organizers said Wednesday.

The stops include Atlanta, Boston, Calgary, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Montreal, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington DC and London.

Dates for the shows have not yet been announced, nor has the lineup.

"I can't reveal anything further now," said a statement from Lilith co-founder Terry McBride, the CEO of Canadian firm Nettwerk Music Group. "But I can assure fans that we have some exciting announcements over the course of the following weeks, from confirmed artists to additional cities to innovative social initiatives. Lilith 2010 is very much upon us."

McBride first announced Lilith resurrection plans in April.

Acts that played Lilith Fair between 1997 and 1999 included Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera, Erykah Badu, Dixie Chicks, Missy Elliott, The Pretenders, Nelly Furtado, Jewel, Queen Latifah, Indigo Girls, Tegan & Sara, and McBride's longtime client Sarah McLachlan, who also co-founded the event.
