Evanescence's Amy Lee Talks Tour And Guitarist

Yahoo! Music, Dec 8, 2003 6:00 pm PST
Evanescence began announcing some of their rescheduled U.S. tour dates last week. The trek was originally slated for November and December, and vocalist Amy Lee told LAUNCH why it was pushed back. "There was a few reasons," Lee said. "We need to wait until our next single is really released to come back. We've been in Europe for so long, I feel like we're out of the light, we're kind of doing our own thing, and it wasn't really coming together the way we wanted it to. We will be doing them again though in February, and we will get a great bill together."

Lee also spoke about the band's current guitarist situation, which has Terry Balsamo from Cold temporarily filling in for the departed Ben Moody. "See, we're only touring, like, for another couple of months, before we start really writing again for the next album, so for now, Terry from Cold has been playing with us, and he's excellent," Lee said. "We're all friends with him, we're happy with him, we toured with them earlier this year, and I don't know, for now, we're all good with that."

Evanescence is nominated for five Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Best Rock Album, and Best Hard Rock Performance. The Grammys will be given out on February 8 in Los Angeles.

The latest single from Evanescence's triple platinum album, Fallen, is "My Immortal."

Meanwhile, former guitarist Ben Moody is reportedly working with Avril Lavigne "on a track or two" for Avril's upcoming album, according to a posting on the Avril fan site, Avrilbandaids.com. Unconfirmed reports suggest Moody may also join Avril's touring band.
