(6/11/01, 10 a.m ET) -- Eve, Jill Scott, Angie Stone, Yolanda Adams, and several other noted female artists have confirmed their participation on the Soul Solidarity project, an album featuring new and previously released songs to benefit the Children's Defense Fund, LifeBeat, and the IAAAM Foundation. The album, scheduled to be released during women's history month in March 2002, will be released on Epic Records, and is the brainchild of Susan Taylor, editorial director of Essence Communications; Stone; and Dyana Williams and Sheila Eldridge, co-founders of the International Association Of African-American Music (IAAAM).

Stone, who serves as the creative director for the project, has already completed the album's first song, "I Can Give You That." The project will include several tie-ins, including a book, television documentary, and a five-city tour. Other artists confirmed to participate in the project include Patti LaBelle, Pru, Donna Summer, and Chante Moore.
