Gary Numan/ 'Cars' Featured On Punk Soundtrack For 'Freddy Got Fingered'

Yahoo! Music, Apr 16, 2001 7:00 am PDT
(4/16/01, 7 a.m. ET) -- The Gary Numan/Fear Factory version of "Cars," and Sex Pistols' "Problems" are among the tracks featured on the soundtrack to the forthcoming Tom Green movie, Freddie Got Fingered. The collection also features songs from the Ramones, Green Day, and Moby.

The Numan/Fear Factory collaboration is several years old, but Fear Factory's Burton C. Bell told LAUNCH the pairing helps both parties. "I think we were scratching each other's back. It was something that was helpful for both of us. He did us a favor and we did him a favor, basically, so it was good. He's so humble, it's unbelievable. A guy with his experience and his success and what he's been through and seen it's just like.... We hung out with him, and his wife is super cool, we went to go watch a movie with him, and make fun of him. He makes fun of me too."

The movie hits the silver screen next Friday (April 20), but the soundtrack arrives tomorrow (April 17). The movie centers around a man who is forced to move back in with his parents and refuses to leave, and also features Rip Torn, Marisa Coughlan, and Connor Widdows. The tracklist for the Freddy Got Fingered soundtrack:

Sex Pistols - "Problems"

Green Day - "Blood, Sex, And Booze"

Iggy Pop - "I've Gotta Be Me"

Fear Factory-Gary Numan - "Cars"

Ramones - "We're A Happy Family"

Moby - "Natural Blues"

Dead Kennedys - "I Fought The Law"

Agent Orange - "Everything Turns Grey"

New York Dolls - "Personality Crisis"

Punchbuggy - "Lucky Me, Lucky You"

Mike Simpson - "Mid-East Mobile Home"

The Adolescents - "Do The Freddy"
