Sheryl, Avril, Fiona Lose Girl Power

Is GirlFrenzy more like a GirlFizzle?

The one-off daylong music festival, set to take place in October and feature an all-estrogen lineup of singers, has been indefinitely postponed, without so much as an explanation to fans or performers.

"Right Arm Entertainment and Live Nation have postponed the first annual GirlFrenzy," read an announcement on the concert's official site. The promoters said the show would be rescheduled sometime for 2008.

Among the topliners slated to appear at the show, which was supposed to take place Oct. 27 in Irvine, California, were Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne, Fiona Apple, Miranda Lambert, MySpace stalwart Colbie Caillat, Starbucks playlist staple Antigone Rising and iTunes heavyweight Sara Bareilles.

Last week, the promoters even announced the formation of a second stage to host the bevy of girl-friendly acts, rolling out new names to grace the stage as recently as Monday.

No reason was given by the promoters for the sudden nixing of the gig, and, per the Los Angeles Times, not even the musicians involved have been informed of why the plug was pulled.

The latter-day Lilith Fair was first announced last month, imploring fans to "Come Join the Party" at the femmecentric affair, promising both music and karmic relief. A portion of the event's proceeds were set to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, as a tie-in to October being Breast Cancer Awareness month.

While organizers promise the show will take place next year, they have yet to set a firm date or location and it's unclear whether the lineup will remain intact.

Refunds for those who bought tickets will be available at the original point of purchase.
