Fresh off her seven-month stint in the slammer for her manicure meltdown, the hot-tempered hip-hopster pleaded guilty today to one misdemeanor count of menacing for beaning her neighbor upside the head with a BlackBerry.
Sandy Silverstein, a spokesman for the Kings County District Attorney's Office, said that as part of a plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop a felony assault charge against Brown for her July 2007 attack on Arlene Raymond. The two got into a spat outside their Brooklyn apartment building after Raymond complained that Brown was blasting her car stereo. Brown responded with a smartphone to the skull.
"She basically had to write a letter of apology to the victim, and a full order of protection was also issued," Silverstein told E! News.
No word whether Raymond, who suffered a black eye and fat lip and had a couple of teeth knocked loose, is contemplating a civil suit against Brown.
On Monday, a Brooklyn Criminal Court judge mistakenly issued a bench warrant for Brown's arrest when the Ill Na Na emcee failed to turn up for a hearing. The warrant was rescinded after the judge determined there was a clerical error by failing to note the hearing was changed to today.
Brown's lawyer, Laura Dilimetin, could not be reached for comment.
The plea agreement is good news for the performer, as it moves her closer to wrapping up two years' worth of legal headaches.
Brown is also expected to plead out this week in a misdemeanor assault case in Pembroke Pines, Fla., stemming from a February 2007 incident in which she was arrested for causing a ruckus in a beauty shop and allegedly spitting on an employee.
