"I like doing that kind of stuff where we can kick it with the fans, just to kind of remind them, like, jeez, you know, like, we're just guys like everybody else," Robb said. "Whenever we get a chance to hang out, like, with fans and just chill and talk, like, it just kind of feels like I'm just meeting people, you know. I like to meet people."
Contest winner Mike Batiste, who will host the show, told LAUNCH that event has paid off for him in unexpected ways: "We have a demerit system here at school, which is our discipline system, and the teachers have kind of been hesitant to give me demerits because they all want to come to the concert, and I've been gettin' requests from everybody and their neighbor, and I've gotten friends that I didn't know I had, so it's been quite interesting."
Hoobastank released their first DVD, titled Let It Out, last Tuesday (November 23).
The band may issue a live album next year before starting work on the follow-up to 2003's the Reason, according to Doug Robb.
Hoobastank is currently on a headlining U.S. tour, with support from Three Days Grace. They play Tuesday (November 30) in Portland, Maine.
