Hoobastank Says 'Crawling In The Dark' Represents It Well

(4/4/02, 4 p.m. ET) -- Hoobastank guitarist Dan Estrin and singer Doug Robb told LAUNCH that they're sick of being duped by radio singles that aren't representative of the sound of a band. The duo said that they're proud of its first single "Crawling In The Dark" and debut album, which sits at Number 68 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

"If you've heard 'Crawling In The Dark' and you really like that song you should definitely get the album, because that song is a perfect representation of the album and the other songs that are on the album," Estrin said.

Robb added, "There are a lot of times where you can hear a song on the radio that you really like and then realize that's the only song that sounds that way on the album. But I also don't want to say that this is going to be our best album. You know? I'd like to leave that open," he said with a laugh.

Hoobastank released "Running Away" earlier this month as the follow-up to the top 10 Modern Rock radio hit "Crawling In The Dark."
