Burt Bacharach And Ronald Isley Record In Hollywood

Music, Jun 17, 2003 5:00 pm PDT(6/17/03, 5 p.m. ET) -- Burt Bacharach recorded Ronald Isley of the Isley Brothers live with an orchestra last Thursday (June 12) at Capitol Studios A and B in Hollywood. The session was for Isley's upcoming solo album, taking a soul music approach to pop standards.
Isley recorded five songs written by Bacharach and his songwriting partner in the 1960s and '70s, Hal David: "In Between The Heartaches," "Alfie," "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head," "Make It Easy On Yourself" and "A House Is Not A Home."
A small audience at the session included movie star Denzel Washington.
Capitol Studios is located inside Hollywood's Capitol Records building and is the site of historic recordings made by Frank Sinatra, Nat "King" Cole, and many others.
Meanwhile, the Isley Brothers will be filming a video on June 25 and 26 in Los Angeles for song "Busted," from the group's album Body Kiss, which debuted on the Billboard album chart a month ago at Number One.
The Isleys get back on the road on Friday (June 20), performing in Rochester, New York at the Blue Cross Arena, and in Chicago on Sunday (June 22) at the Chicago Theatre.
