Singer John Mayer Goes to Pa. Prom

Students at Pennsbury High School had a surprise guest at their prom — singer John Mayer .

Mayer's song "Your Body Is A Wonderland" had become sort of a theme for the senior class and senior class president Bob Costa had been working on getting Mayer for the prom for two years.

The three-song concert happened Saturday thanks to Costa's lobbying and a book by Michael Bamberger. Intrigued by the school's big, annual prom parade, Bamberger has written "Wonderland" about the a year in the life of seniors at the school and the students' quest.

Mayer's publicist found out about the students and the book, and arranged for the surprise show.

"Go be amazing people, and I'll see you again," Mayer told the students.

The story could hit the silver screen. The book's movie rights have already been optioned.

"Kids these days have no faith that things like this can happen," Costa said. "But it did, and so it renewed a lot of faith people have in high school."
