Yahoo! Music, Apr 1, 2003 4:00 pm PST
(4/1/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- A triple bill featuring Journey, Styx, and REO Speedwagon will hit the road this spring and summer. The tour gets underway May 10 in Las Vegas and is scheduled to run for three months, with dates beyond that point a distinct possibility. The bands will be in New York City Tuesday (April 1) for a party and tour announcement that will also see them playing acoustic sets for the invited guests. The tour is being billed as Classic Rock's Main Event and is being presented by VH1 Classic.

Journey guitarist Neal Schon said he's looking forward to the tour, since he thinks having the three bands out together is a natural fit. "When it was brought up to me, I was, like, 'Well, I like all these guys. I know them personally from the other bands, and I know that personally, we'll get along together well, and I think that musically, it is compatible," Schon said.
