The half-brothers, often caught between the former Beatle's widow, Yoko Ono (aka Sean's mom), and first wife, Cynthia (Julian's maternal unit), could be performing together in public for the first time.
And the even would take place, appropriately enough, at the United Nations.
Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, Macy Gray and Akon are also among those reportedly slated to perform before 3,000 guests at the General Assembly hall.
MDG Awards organizer, Sacha Stone, declined to confirm any details of the show, saying in an email that an official announcement would be made next week.
However, Julian, 45, did indicate that some sort of performancewas in the works, though no word whether that will include his 33-year-old sibling.
"Just to let you know, I'm in discussion with people from the UN Awards, about possibly performing a track or two for their LIVE inaugural show/event, which I'm very excited about, but also very nervous about, as I haven't really performed properly for about 8-10 years!" the "Valotte" singer writes on his MySpace blog.
As for Sean, he'll have a long and winding road to travel if he plans on making the gig.
"We'll be back stateside early Feb recording a new Yoko album. That's gonna be really fun. Then off to Paris 25 Feb to play Serge [Gainsboug] tribute," the youngest Lennon says on his MySpace blog.
Of course, aside from some serious jet lag, Sean wouldn't be able to hop a flight back to New York for the U.N. show the following day. His publicist, Elliot Mintz, was hoping to reach the singer for a clarification.
Despite any lingering enmity between their mothers (largely over John Lennon-related money issues), Sean and Julian announced in 2007 that they had reconciled after nearly a decade-long estrangement.
