(7/20/01, 1 p.m. ET) -- Cash Money Millionaire Juvenile was in Jackson, Tennessee, on Wednesday (July 18) night to perform a concert at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. Ten minutes into the show, Mose Burton, the civic center director, pulled the plug on the rapper's set. According to Burton, Juvenile agreed prior to taking the stage to keep it clean and children were allowed to attend the show as long as they were accompanied by a parent.
"We do not usually do rap. We haven't had one in 11 years," Burton told AP. "I said I'd try it if it is clean. I told them I would pull the plug if it wasn't. I take full responsibility. When I came in from the office, it got really nasty. I told the soundman to cut the music and we cleared the house. The show was over." Many of the 500 fans, who paid $25 for the concert, were upset when the plug was pulled.
Juvenile's latest single, "Set It Off," is currently Number 34 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. The rapper is set to release a new album, Project English, on August 28.
