(5/27/03, 3 p.m. ET) -- Canadian female foursome Lillix's Maverick Records debut album, Falling Uphill, is released Tuesday (May 27).

To create the album, Lillix collaborated with an impressive list of producers including the Matrix (Avril Lavigne), Philip Steir (No Doubt), Linda Perry (Pink, Christina Aguilera), John Shanks (Michelle Branch) and Glen Ballard.

Bassist-vocalist Louise Burns, 17, said the first single to be released from the album, "It's About Time," is just one of many different flavors of music fans can find on the set. "The single was produced and co-written by the Matrix--we wrote it with them,” Burns said. “And it definitely has a signature sound. The album is a little bit different I would say than the single. The album is very eclectic... so the single adds just another element to our album. The best way to describe our sound would be listening to our album and then making a judgment on that."

Nineteen-year-old Lillix singer-keyboardist Lacey-Lee Evin--joined by her younger sister, 17-year-old guitarist Tasha-Ray Evin and singer-bassist Burns--said the band is really looking forward to hitting the road this summer. "We have lots of radio shows coming up,” Lacey-Lee Evin said. “We don't have like really a tour with Lillix and somebody else. But it's like just a whole bunch of promo shows and radio shows. Basically that's what we're doing during the summer.”

Burns interjected, “We'll have to see what happens after our record comes out.” Tasha-Ray Evin added, “Yeah, we want to get on the road. We want to start touring--hopefully opening for some bands and stuff like that--like a full out tour."

Lillix will play the Women Who Rock live music showcase at the Cutting Room in New York City on Wednesday (May 28). Atlantic Records recording artist Lucy Woodward is also on the bill. For more information about the event please visit womenwhorockmag.com.
